Uhh, BC2 still has thousands of players on daily, across all platforms.
And no if you want a successful fps game, refine your own gameplay to fit that game. Look what happened when Crysis 2 copied Call of Duty. You seem to think the best selling fps is also the highest quality fps...Nothing could be further from the truth.
While I do agree with you that many fps games try to incorporate cod elements into their games, the battlefield series has always stayed true to it's own formula, and is one of the few fps games to do so. (the other being halo)
That's all great they stopped the cheaters, but what exactly did they do about piracy?
It's a very niche genre these days isn't it? MGS4 was the last major 'stealth' game, unless if you count Assassin's Creed I guess. The way stealth worked in MGS4 was very refined, from Octocamo, to guards seeing footsteps and spent magazines, to even smelling you if you were near a trash can a bit too long. I think that's the limit for "Combat" stealth or stealth on a battlefield.
With games like Velvet Assassin or Assassin's creed I thi...
Chill... at least Crystal Dynamics acknowledges that the series needs a new direction. Sega on the other hand just takes sonic and spits him out every year in different directions. Which is why Sonic hasn't had a sequel to any of his games since SA2. (Sonic Ep. 4 is a result of Sonic's "identity" crisis)
...for the same reason games like Starcraft, battlefield or halo haven't been recreated. It's hard to duplicate high quality titles.
Not surprising. TTT2, SFxTekken and SC5 will most likely all be released before TekkenXSF
Bobby Kotick never tried to enter the EA booth. We have confirmation on this from both EA and Activision representatives.
The PS3 demo footage on Fallon was the first GAMEPLAY demonstration shown. The other console footage was taken from the E3 trailer.
About BF3 running at 720p 30 frames...Call of Duty has yet to even run in HD.
I like the design, simple and straight to the point. Hope to see more about battlelog soon.
This is great news for developers. So far, Sony seems to be doing everything right with the Vita.
I don't see how the comm.-rose would hurt. They could kinda just combine it with BC2's "quick-spotting." Like if you just tap Q (default on PC) then you spot the target. But if you hold it, you bring up the communications options.
Hard to believe the BF:2142 demo servers are still full everyday. I remember trying it out WAYYY back in 2006 XD. It's a great game though, even the demo!
No one liked Crysis 2? After the DX11/Ultra patch and release of SB3, I've taken a liken to it.
The fact that you said it takes at least $30-$50 million to develop high-quality titles shows you don't know jack sh*t.
Unlike the PSP, the Vita can run engines that are seen on consoles, such as Unreal, Uncharted's engine, and Metal Gears' (to some extent). This dramatically cuts back on development costs since the developers no longer have to build proprietary engines from scratch for portable games. Also, since these engines aren't built from scratch and ru...
Hunched over a monitor? Why don't you just lean back?
...yeah like those above said, you pretty much wasted your money. You don't need THAT much processing power for composing and mixing music. You wouldn't even need that much if you were doing video editing.
There's nothing wrong with it running at 30 fps. The fanboys were just spoiled by the PC footage shown, and expected consoles to run at the same speed, with the same graphics as PC. 60 frames isn't necessary for shooting games, which is why 95% of them currently run at 30 fps. 60 frames is necessary for games that require precision inputs such as fighting games and racing games.
most likely are, but it's feasible that the actual system requirements may be pretty similar to whats posted.
@egidem
You built a very similar computer to mine, and around the same time too. I've since upgraded my cpu from an E8400 to a Q9550 and have 6gb of DDR3 RAM. I'd suggest EVGA's gtx 560ti if you can afford it (around $230-$260) or the GTX 460 if that's not in your range. Try to get it under EVGA because their step-up program is clutch
I have no doubt in my mind that MW3 will get much higher sales than BF3...
But I'm also damn sure BF3 will be the better game.
